Amazing service and knowledge! We have never been happier with any other realtor. She was always there with answers, no matter what the situation was. Paige made us feel very happy with our purchase and we can't wait to work with her again!

Go Green in Glenmore Valley

Whether you want to face it or not, winter is coming - and many of our thoughts turn to the days ahead filled with snow and ice, tinted with the drab shade of gray and brown.  But, during the winter months it’s important to keep one color top of mind:  GREEN!  But, no matter what time of year it is, it’s important for all of us to try and do a little to minimize our impact on the natural world around us.
Here are a few reminders of realistic and achievable things you can do to assist in keeping our way of life in this beautiful valley sustainable.

  • Toss it in the compost
It’s time for your autumn clean-up! Why not consider adding a composter to your yard for much of the unwanted yard waste?  Imagine being able to create your own soil-boosting mixture for free from items found in your yard and around the home.
  • Put on a sweater
I know, it’s cold outside!  Instead of cranking the thermostat, why not just put on a sweater?  Move your thermostat down just 2 degrees can save about one tonne of carbon dioxide each year.
  • Buy Local
Support your local farmers as much as possible.  Farmer’s markets and year-round grower’s warehouses are excellent sources of locally grown tree fruits.
  • Get around as nature intended
Walk, bike, roll, scoot, wheel, skate-however you’re able to get around by your own power, you’ll do your part to reduce emissions and get exercise in the process.
  • Car pool
If you must rely on your car to get to work, bring some company along for the ride.  Less congestion means easier breathing and more money in your wallet.
  • Conserve water
It’s time for Okanagan residents to start viewing our region as a water-stressed area.  You can save up to 15 litres of water each day by simply not letting the faucet run while you brush your teeth.  Also take shorter showers- every minute in the shower equals between 12 to 24 litres of water used.

Every little bit helps for the sake minimizing the on-going ecological damage we humans continue to create, it’s our job to do what we can to ‘GO GREEN’.  Be part of the sustainable solution!
